The Michelin National road map of Hungary at 1:400,000 scale is ideal for route planning. Roads network includes local roads and is graded according to the number of lanes. Junctions show full or partial interchanges. Steep gradients, level crossings and restricted entry sections are marked; scenic routes are highlighted. Railway lines and ferry routes are included.

National Tourist Route Havøysund takes you to the far north. The route follows the Arctic Ocean and meanders through a rugged landscape of cliffs and untamed nature where the bare mountains touch the ocean's edge. The fishing village of Havøysund offers an intriguing opportunity to visit a vibrant community on the coast of Finnmark. Along this weather-beaten coastline, fisheries have provided the region with its industrial basis. From Havøysund, visitors can catch a boat to the islands of Rolvsøy and Ingøy and to Fruholmen lighthouse, further out into the Arctic Ocean. The area provides excellent opportunities for deep-sea fishing. Hjelmsøystauren rock, with one of Europe's largest bird colonies, is also well worth a visit. National Tourist Route Havøysund runs from Kokelv to Havøysund over a total distance of 66 kilometres (County Road 889). The coastal liner Hurtigruten calls at Havøysund every day of the week, giving you the opportunity to design your own round trip and see several National Tourist Routes.

We have visited the area twice in the past couple of years and feel that the information is both accurate and comprehensive. Malaysia must be considered as two separate entities lumped together. The Malay Peninsula stretches south from the Thai border to the island republic of Singapore, and is overwhelmingly Muslim. The other half would be the far-flung island components of Sarawak and Sabah, with the Sultanate of Brunei in the middle, extending eastwards towards Polynesia, wild and only lightly touched by the modern world. As this is an update, there isn't a lot of new material; obviously, things that have changed from the previous edition have been corrected/added, and the inset map of Kuala Lumpur has been re-worked. We have added a detailed hiking map to the Mount Kinabalu inset map, and have added the new spinal highway linking Sarawak with Brunei.

This Marco Polo map of Norway features really easy to read cartography. Topography is highlighted with relief shading and loads of spot heights and the road network is clearly shown with roads ranging from motorways all the way through to minor secondary roads. The map also clearly indicates airports, places of interest, scenic/tourist routes, view points etc.

The map includes a booklet attached to the cover that contains some useful information and a very extensive index that covers locations, places of interest and geographical features. Also included are a distance/driving time chart, a fold out flap on the cover with an overview map of the region covered and 6 reasonably detailed enlargements showing the major cities in the region.

A unique feature of the Marco Polo maps is "mark it" stickers, a set of seven reusable stickers (ie they don't damage the map when removed and placed elsewhere) that can be used to highlight interesting places, the route you plan to take (to make navigation easier), or whatever you want really.

The legend is in a multitude of languages including English.

At last! This is the 'new' artwork covering northern Borneo in detail. We used to have two maps for this area, but have combined the artwork into one double-sided map covering the same area as formerly, but as one map, and with greater consistency in colouring and style. The base artwork has been updated and readability improved. From Michelin's yellow Local series of Europe maps comes this map of Campania and Basilicata at 1:200 000, showing excellent detail in this region of southern Italy. The map has the usual excellent road detail characteristic of Michelin maps, with everything from motorways down to rough tracks and footpaths marked out clearly. The number of lanes is indicated on most roads, with intermediate road distances, European route numbers and tolled roads also shown.

The map includes highly detailed relief shading that's derived from satellite photos, with plenty of spot heights also. Both of these countries are unique ITMB titles. Malawi sells quite well, and always has. Mozambique is an interesting country that I explored several times while living in then-Rhodesia. Its infrastructure has suffered since independence, but Beira and the parks east of Malawi are quite good. The northern part of the country is largely undeveloped, unlike Malawi, where one of the treats of the country is Livingstonia, on a plateau overlooking Lake Malawi, where David Livingstone founded his mission and built a town of Scottish stone buildings. It has to be seen to be believed!

This drive takes you from one fjord to the next via a high mountain crossing with snow along the road most of the summer. The viewing platform at Stegastein, a natural place to make a stop, provides a dizzying view of the fjord landscape. The Nærøyfjord, a designated World Heritage Site, offers breath-taking scenery. The Flåm railway line and the Aurlandsdalen valley, other outstanding attractions close to the route, are well worth a detour. If you combine a visit to Aurlandsfjellet with a trip through the Lærdal Tunnel, which at 24.5 km is the worlds longest road tunnel, you will be struck by the contrasts this area can offer. National Tourist Route Aurlandsfjellet is a 47 kilometre long drive between Aurlandsvangen and Lærdalsøyri (County Road 243). The mountain crossing is closed in the winter season, but the road from Aurlandsvangen to the Stegastein viewing platform is open year round.

The area near Gjende lake has a wide network of marked trails for hikes of varying lengths and difficulties. The most famous hiking route goes along the Besseggen ridge. National Tourist Route Valdresflye runs from Garli to Hindsæter (County Road 51) over a total distance of 49 kilometres, included the short side road to Gjende. The mountain crossing is closed in the winter season.

This journey along a route that has connected Norway between east and west for centuries includes Northern Europes highest mountain pass, at 1 434 metres above sea level. The Sognefjell road starts in the lush cultural landscape of Bøverdalen valley in the east and crosses the mountain plateau, with panoramic views of glaciers and towering mountains, before descending through valleys to the inner reaches of the Sognefjord with their tranquil villages in the west. Travelling this route across the roof of Norway provides the opportunity to experience vast mountain expanses, dramatic fjords and valleys and a landscape brimming with cultural heritage sites. Lom stave church, one of the biggest and most beautiful stave churches in our country, is one of its many highlights. In a former era, this route was the main artery connecting the coast with the inland regions. Salt and fish were brought eastwards and exchanged for butter, tar and pelts for the return journey. In those days, farmers and merchants travelled together when crossing the mountains so as not to be waylaid by highwaymen. Today it is safe to travel here, and the adventure along the road is found in the combination of magnificent mountain scenery, art and architecture. National Tourist Route Sognefjellet runs from Lom to Gaupne over a total distance of 108 kilometres (County Road 55). The mountain crossing is closed in the winter season; when it opens in early May, the road may be lined with banks of snow up to ten metres in height.

This Marco Polo map features really easy to read cartography. Topography is highlighted with relief shading and loads of spot heights and the road network is clearly shown with roads ranging from motorways all the way through to minor secondary roads. The map also clearly indicates airports, places of interest, scenic/tourist routes, view points etc.

The map includes a booklet attached to the cover that contains some useful information and a very extensive index that covers locations, places of interest and geographical features. Also included are a distance/driving time chart and a fold out flap on the cover with an overview map of the region covered.

This is a new title for ITMB, providing detailed coverage of almost all of what most of us consider to be the Scandinavian countries. Only the southernmost portions of Denmark had to be left off. The map is double-sided, with Denmark and most of Norway and Sweden on one side and their balances and Finland on the reverse side. The road network, particularly the motorways and A-type roads shown up very well. Secondary roads show well and also are easy to see. Rail lines are present as well as ferry routes, of which there are many. The area of Scandinavia is so large in the European context that little attention has been paid to the region. When mapping a large area such as this is, it is difficult to show every detail. We have done our best and included all world heritage sites, major churches, castles, some campsites, and as many touristic attractions as could be fitted into the artwork without creating clutter.

The road network is well represented, both the main roads, provincial and local roads. Road numbers are also clearly stated. Distances between places are marked on the map in kilometers, and gas stations are also marked in important places.

Shadow shows the relief and sometimes some points with the actual height. Province borders, national parks and reserves are easy to find. We are always pleased to announce the release of a new title. The Straits of Gibraltar, as this map should be named is historically significant as the crossing point between Europe and North Africa and, more recently, as the guardian of the Mediterranean. It is now moving into a new era – tourism. The city/colony of Gibraltar itself is well worth a visit, and a detailed map is provided. The Spanish city/colony on the North African coast is equally interesting and is also shown, as is Tangier and a good stretch of the Moroccan north coast. This map is printed single-sided, on paper.

For some reason, Bosnia Herzegovina has never attracted the attention of firms publishing maps. Understandably, since the breakup of Yugoslavia, the entire region has been somewhat unattractive for visitors. Also, Bosnia by itself is difficult to map, due to its shape. However, we have visited the country several times and find it to be interesting, friendly, and attractive. We were particularly impressed by Montenegro. Since it broke away from Serbia, this country has moved forward quickly. It uses the Euro as a currency, has lovely Mediterranean Sea resorts along its coast, and is a progressive country tying its future to the rest of Europe as a future EU member. The roads in both countries are good, and the damage done by civil in-fighting largely a thing of the past. Both countries are well-worth a visit. The map also includes Kosovo. Ethnically, it is probably more tied to Albania than to Bosnia, but geographically, Bosnia is closer and Kosovo is shown in good detail on this double-sided map. I see the political entity currently known as Bosnia separating into three distinct units in time, and one could speculate endlessly on the resulting combinations. For now, the entire region is at peace and rebuilding. It is extremely affordable, easy to get to now that Croatia is part of the EU, and a little-known part of Europe.

We are really pleased with this new edition of Puerto Rico. We spent part of August, 2020, touring the island and geo-referencing its many highways. The island is bigger and more densely road-networked than we thought, so we'll have to complete the job on our next visit, but the roads are now much more precisely shown accurately than was possible before satellite imagery. The map looks great on an Ipad screen as well. The map also shows updated inset maps of San Juan, Ponce, Mayaguez, Aguadilla, and Arecibo. Puerto Rico is part of the United States, so has all the benefits, but is internally self-governing. With this edition we are including a map of the other US colonial territory, the US Virgin Islands. The Danish West Indies was purchased from Denmark in 1917 and is an integral part of the USA, with all its benefits, but is, like Puerto Rico, neither fish nor fowl. It is internally self-governing and a great retirement location for Americans, but it retains much of its Danish heritage. The map includes insets of Charlotte Amalie, Frederiksted, Cruz Bay, and Christiansted. The ITMB map of the entire Virgin Islands area will continue to be marketed separately; this version is mostly for the convenience of cruise ship passengers visiting both 'countries'.

This map is the updated version of our previous map, which was called Southern Africa, covering the southernmost portion of Africa. It is also the most developed part of the continent, with the densest road network and number of urban areas on the continent. This edition was started a year ago and incorporates an innovative approach to data portrayal by essentially over-lapping our very detailed South Africa artwork over top of the southern Africa artwork. The result is a much more detailed regional map than was possible previously.

This is the third of our regional maps covering the African continent and covers the portion just south of Nigeria/Cameroun that, essentially, straddles the equator. The jungle-like western half has always been referred to as Equatorial Africa, which is a bit of a mis-nomer because Uganda and Kenya also straddle the equator. The area of coverage of this map is two-fold: to bring the western portion into our growing digital data base and to provide our first-ever ITM map of beautiful East Africa (the KUT countries, Rwanda, and Burundi). Unlike Michelin, that places what it calls Central and Southern Africa on to one large single-sided sheet, we have decided to divide the southern half of the African continent into three double-sided sheets at a better scale. This is the first one, covering Africa as far south as Zambia, with a bit of Zimbabwe. From Michelin's yellow Local series of Europe maps comes this map of Calabria at 1:200 000, showing excellent detail in this region of Italy. The map has the usual excellent road detail characteristic of Michelin maps, with everything from motorways down to rough tracks and footpaths marked out clearly. The number of lanes is indicated on most roads, with intermediate road distances, European route numbers and tolled roads also shown.

The map includes highly detailed relief shading that's derived from satellite photos, with plenty of spot heights also. View points, scenic routes, religious and historic buildings, caves, palaces and villas, parks and loads of other places of touristic interest are marked out with symbols. The legend is in a few lanaguages, one of them is English.

The map also has a table gving distances and driving times between major towns and citites throughout the region and an extensive index of places.

The map is an enlargement of cartography prepared to cover a wider area, so has larger that usual print and greater clarity. Roads network includes local roads and is graded according to the number of lanes. Motorways indicate toll routes and junctions show full or partial interchanges. Toll barriers, steep gradients and seasonal restrictions are marked, scenic routes are highlighted. Railway lines are not included. Relief shading is used to indicate the topography, with colouring for forested areas. Selected regional parks are also marked. Small symbols indicate various landmarks or places of interest, but the map is not designed to highlight tourist sights. The map has no geographical coordinates. Multilingual map legend includes English. The index is printed on the same side as the map. We are gradually increasing the scales for our data of Great Britain and this is our latest effort. Most visitors to the UK fly into one of London's four airports and combine a visit to the city with an opportunity to travel to various destinations within striking distance of London. England is so incredibly rich in heritage and scenic attractions that it is extremely difficult to portray the country as a map of the entire entity. As a result, England lends itself nicely to be divided into a central/northern portion and a southern portion. To fit areas as diverse as Cornwall and Norwich on one sheet, one needs to have a vertical frame, with Devon/Cornwall up to the top of Wales on one side and Wiltshire to Kent up to York (admittedly, not normally considered to be part of 'southern', but vertically, that's what happens. At this scale, all of southern England and all of Wales can be shown in good detail, especially the motorways, A-type roads, and most B-type roads. Most C-level village roads are also there, but the scale available makes them somewhat difficult to see. Also, the scale enables us to add many more place names than was previously possible, but there are limits to what one can portray at any particular scale and the smallest level of village life will have to await more detailed maps at 1:250,000 that we will be preparing at a future date. This map is what we call a 'work in progress' and we would welcome input as to how to improve future editions. The map is quite detailed but not cluttered, and covers an area that one can drive in a four to five hour time period from Heathrow. A generation ago, this would have been impossible, but road improvements have extended a visitor's ability to cover more distance in the same time period as I used to cover in the 1960s. Somewhat surprisingly, the map also shows how the 'greenbelt' surrounding London is steadily disappearing as the city continues to expand. I suspect that most of our yellow urban infill areas are shown too conservative for modern times. The artwork, is accurate, detailed, attractively portrayed, and hopefully of interest to those visiting England.

Covering the central portions of Turkey and especially the popular Cappadocia region. Turkey itself is a fascinating country. This map covers the portion from the Mediterranean coast all the way to Syria and north to the Black Sea port of Samsun. This part of Turkey is somewat less sophisticated than the western coastal cities and Istanbul, but it evokes memories of the many e,pires that have traversed the region. Cappadochia was created centuries ago by local people fearing the hordes of invaders that periodically appeared on the horizon and secreted themselves in soft stone caves carved in an inhospitable part of the country. Today, this is one of Turkey's touristic attractions, but the map is much more than that, this is detailed road map to explore an exciting part of the world.
