Uitstekende landkaart van Noord-Macedonië. Met index, toeristische informatie en afstanden in kilometers.

Gedetailleerde, tweezijdige landkaart van Macedonië, prima geschikt voor planning en rondtrekken. De berijdbare wegen zijn goed weergeven, zowel de hoofdwegen als provinciale en lokale wegen; wegnummers worden vermeld. Afstanden tussen plaatsen zijn in kilometers op de kaart ingetekend, daarnaast worden ook op belangrijke plekken benzinepompen gemarkeerd.

In het kaartbeeld wordt door middel van schaduw het reliëf weergegeven en soms enkele punten in het landschap met de daadwerkelijke hoogte. Provinciegrenzen zijn goed terug te vinden, nationale parken en reservaten ook. Met allerhande symbolen worden toeristische bezienswaardigheden weergegeven als monumenten, historisch belangrijke plekken en uitzichtpunten. In bepaalde plaatsen zijn hotels en campings te vinden, luchthavens en treinverbindingen vindt u er ook op!

Jasper National Park kaart, zeer gedetailleerd (schaal 1:250.000) plus op de anderekant van de kaart staat Noord Alberta, schaal 1:1.000.000. Natuurkundige overzichtskaart met veel plaatsen en wegen, spoorlijnen en rivieren, hoogten, lengte- en breedtegraden.

Two words immediately come to my mind if I were to describe Northern Alberta: Oil and Cold. Oil sands could be found relatively easily within the Northern Alberta region. This pushes the Canadian economy forward as gasoline and other petroleum products are becoming higher in demand. Northern Alberta is also about the subzero temperature. The region of Northern Alberta mostly contains very cold, long winters and warm, short summers. Fort McMurray, for example, one of the famous urban communities located in the Wood buffalo municipality, has only a yearly mean temperature of 0.7 degrees Celsius. Nonetheless, Northern Alberta is also a land of recreation activities and wild adventures. On the other side of the Northern Alberta map, we have included a map of Jasper National Park. This park is situated deep in the Alberta Rockies and is surrounded by mountains. Although it is dissected by the Trans-Canada Highway, this park remains as one of the most pristine and wild parks of Canada. This park is a must-see as it can be reached with ease and has amazing natural features. Included insets of this map are Jasper and Edmonton.

Tweetalige kaart (Engels en Duits). Door ingetekende lengte- en breedtegraden is het gebruik van GPS mogelijk. Met hoogtelijnen en uitgebreid wegennetwerk: daarnaast worden ook de afstanden tussen belangrijke plaatsen duidelijk leesbaar weergegeven. Het kleurgebruik is zodanig dat je een goede indruk krijgt van hoogteverschillen en soorten landschap. Natuurlijk staan de toeristische bezienswaardigheden duidelijk vermeld.

Gedrukt op water- en scheurvast papier! Polyart is een synthetisch product vrij van giftige stoffen dus duurzaam. Het papier gaat echt lang mee.

Topography is indicated by altitude colouring with numerous spot heights and names of mountain ranges and passes. Salt lakes, swamps, seasonal rivers and glacier are also shown. Detailed presentation of the road network includes minor roads and tracks and railways are also shown.

Internal administrative units are presented with their boundaries and names. National parks and other protected areas are highlighted. A wide range of symbols mark various places of interest. Map legends include English and all the maps have an index of localities.

Regionale kaart met veel praktische informatie als campings, bezienswaardigheden, fietsroutes etc.  Een handige kaart als je vanuit een bepaalde standplaats de omgeving wilt verkennen. 

Zoals op het overzicht te zien is, blijkt niet heel Duitsland gedekt door deze serie. Zo zijn de landsgrenzen met Nederland niet in kaart gebracht door Marco Polo. Kijk dus goed op het overzicht hoe deze kaart uitgesneden is.

Regionale kaart met veel praktische informatie als campings, bezienswaardigheden, fietsroutes etc. In begeleidend boekje worden de belangrijkste toeristische hoogpunten in het kort beschreven. Een handige kaart als je vanuit een bepaalde standplaats de omgeving wilt verkennen. Deze versie is geplastificeerd!

Zoals op het overzicht te zien is, blijkt niet heel Duitsland gedekt door deze serie. Zo zijn de landsgrenzen met Nederland niet in kaart gebracht door Marco Polo. Kijk dus goed op het overzicht hoe deze kaart uitgesneden is

The maps retain the publisher’s traditional cartography of this series, boldly stressing main roads and motorways in strong colours and selected towns in large letters, but also showing minor roads and villages in considerable detail. Road information includes toll roads, traffic restrictions and seasonal closures, gradient marking for steep roads, scenic routes, etc. Motorway services clearly indicate types of facilities available there. Railway network includes narrow gauge and tourist lines, cable car lines, and chair lifts.

The series is particularly good for identifying geographical features: mountain and hill chains, valleys, national parks, etc. Picturesque towns and places of interest are given star rating, and other tourist information includes campsites and youth hostels, landmarks, recreational facilities etc. Latitude and longitude grid is drawn at intervals of 10'.

Each title comes with a booklet which contains street plans and maps at 1:100,000 highlighting road access to main cities, a table with distances and traveling times, main traffic and speed regulations, plus an extensive index of place names showing full postal code for each locality.

Zoals je van Michelin mag verwachten is deze kaart zeer overzichtelijk en heeft een duidelijk helder kaartbeeld. De kaart geeft uitgebreid toeristische informatie weer. Met register, afstanden en reistijden.

Wegen worden naar verschillende klasse ingedeeld en - mooi van Michelin - de interessante mooie routes worden gemarkeerd met een groene streep. 

Hindernissen voor automobilisten met caravans zijn gemarkeerd: steile hellingen, bergpassen of een anderzins moeilijke route. Bezienswaardigheden als een kasteel, religieus gebouw, ruine of grot is door een symbool goed te vinden.

This Italy map from Michelin is part of their red national map series. These are perfect for route planning as well as getting around by car once you're there. They clearly mark out major roads and also show many of the more important minor roads. 

The map's simple folding design with durable paper cover, allows it to be read like a book and easily folded back together. Road numbers and intermediate distances are clearly displayed with the more scenic routes highlighted in green.

Zoals je van Michelin mag verwachten is deze kaart zeer overzichtelijk en heeft een duidelijk helder kaartbeeld. De kaart heeft een register op de achterzijde. Landgrenzen goed leesbaar. Natuurlijk kun je niet de kleinste wegen verwachten: grote wegen staan met afstanden en wegnummer vermeld.

This map is perfect for route planning, but probably less useful for navigating once you're there as the 1:3 000 000 scale is a bit too small. 

The map shows the network of main roads in a large double-sided, indexed format which clearly highlights towns of particular interest. The British Isles are presented with most of the Continent, including southern Scandinavia, on one side. 

The whole of Scandinavia with the Baltic States, Belarus and western Russia are on the reverse, with a very generous overlap between the two sides.

Tourism to Cambodia is growing so quickly that we felt it necessary to bring back the country as its own map, instead of being combined with Laos. However, the entire country fits very nicely on one side of a map sheet, so we have combined it with neighboring Vietnam's Mekong Delta map. There are two treasures in Cambodia: the Angkor Wat complex of temples near Siem Riep, and the Capital of Phnom Penh. Cambodia became extremely destabilized by the Vietnam War in the 1960s, leading to a rebellion that placed the murderous Khmer Rouge in charge. This led to massive atrocities and de-populated all towns, killing millions. Siem Riep is a thriving touristic city, and UNESCO manages the Angkor complex very well. The capital has mostly recovered, but still retains the sleepy colonial atmosphere of the French era. River boats ply the Mekong River and transport visitors to Vietnam, where the river divides into nine mouths to flow into the ocean. That brings us to the second side of the map and the area known as the mekong Delta. This is a very useful map in its own right. The delta is extremly rich agricultural land with numerous canals carrying water to countless rice paddies. The map also provides a link between Phnom Penh and Saigon/HCM City, which has now grown to nine million people.

ITMB continues to refine its data base for Africa and introduce new titles that we hope meet market expectations. This map is one of the first of our enhanced scale maps that will gradually become the norm for regional maps of parts of the African continent. This map is also unique in that it does what I do not believe has been attempted before by any publisher - portraying the entire Mediterranean coastline from Morocco to the eastern edge of Egypt in one double-sided map. I admit, current political realities make this map somewhat challenging. One cannot cross, for example, between Morocco and Algeria, and Libya is in such a state of disarray at the moment that it is not practical to visit the country. However, the strength of this title is that it breaks new ground and looks at the countries north of Sahara as a comprehensive entity in great detail.

This is the latest map from our growing digital data base on Africa. One side of this map concentrates on the five countries of what is generally known as East Africa - Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, with bits of neighboring countries thrown in. The second side covers what has always been called Central Africa, probably because it was once British Central Africa. This is Zambia,Zimbabwe, and Malawi, with the northern half of Mozambique and the Okavango delta included, as well as a bit of DEM Congo. The map covers a vast portion of the African continent and includes a diverse ethnic and geographic reality. We have tried to categorize roads by condition, but the reality of Africa is that some main roads are in pretty poor condition. Some secondary roads are not shown as being as good as they probably are, but verifying data for Africa is difficult. This is our first map of this part of the world based on GIS Data. As such, it is much more precisely accurate than anything done to date. Africa is still a "work in progress" but this map opens it for exploration by visitors.

The Canadian province of Ontario is intimidatingly large. It is also mostly tundra with extremely few settlements and few roads; in fact, the geographic centre of Ontario is about 1,500 kms north of the nearest road. The very first map I prepared, at age 10, was of Ontario; and it took me six weeks to trace all the lakes. My point is that the developed portion of the province is a much smaller wedge of fertile ground south of the mineral belt of the Great Canadian Shield. This double-sided map focusses on the area south of Sudbury and North Bay and expands the scale to a much more useful purpose for most users. Imagine Detroit in the southwest corner of the map, with Highway 401 joining it to London and Toronto and a branch motorway cutting across to Buffalo. Add in the Bruce Peninsula and the major routes north to cottage country and you have side one. The other side stretches from Toronto east to the Quebec border and Ottawa, with the lovely Kawarthas region for exploring. My personal favourite highway is Number 7, from Peterborough east through land settled two hundred years ago by Scottish Gaels. Perth is a perfectly preserved Scottish town of granite buildings. The map also includes a regional map of the main roads in the greater Toronto area and a separate inset of the downtown.

Can you name anyone who has published a detailed map of Siberia? I cannot! This is one of the largest geographical regions on earth, comparable in magnitude to the Sahara or Gobi desert areas, or the vast Prairie regions of Canada, but it has never had a travel map. Well, now it does and the last frontier of mapping the world has been breached. The part of Russia east of the Ural Mountains is vast; there is no other word to describe the enormity of this region of grassland and tundra. Technically, it does not extend all the way to the Pacific Ocean, but it does go from the Arctic Ocean to the Chinese and Mongolian borders. This is not a part of the world well travelled, but it could become so with a good, detailed map. We start in the west at Omsk on the Irtysh River, where the northern and southern branches of the Trans-Siberian Railway line cross each other. I am afraid that most of the cities of the region would not be well known, but I notice Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, and Lake Baikal. This is wilderness with a capital W, a region waiting to be discovered by intrepid travelers. Go for it! You can actually drive across Siberia now, as well as go by train. We actually discovered a road going all the way to the Arctic Ocean!

Anyone who has been in this business for a few years remembers Ordnance Survey and their brilliantly detailed artwork. They should also remember that OS guarded this artwork religiously. That all changed when the then head of government in the UK, one soon-forgotten Gordon Brown, decreed that commercial OS artwork had to be discontinued and artwork had to be made more freely available to users. I expected an outpouring of new artwork by private UK firms. It did not happen; in fact, the range of travel maps decreased dramatically. However, OS artwork is still an excellent source of mapping artwork. This is a wonderful double-sided, detailed map of Scotland. It is both extremely detailed and accurate. We have added symbols for parks, historic sites, battlefields, country hotels, and anything else that we think would interest visitors. In order to portray Scotland to best scale advantage, the only inset included with this map are those of outlying islands, such as the Shetlands. ITMB also publishes a separate, less detailed map of Scotland on one side with Edinburgh of the other side. The new Scotland map has also been upgraded to being printed on plastic paper for durability. It also makes a good umbrella for when the Scotch mist falls! By the way, our forthcoming map of England and Wales should be available in about two months.

This is a new title for ITMB. Japan divides nicely into north of Tokyo and south. Andere weginformatie omvat bijvoorbeeld kilometer-afstanden, tolwegen, helling-aanduiding, winterafsluitingen, tankstations maar ook de bekende groene routes: de mooiste wegen om te rijden.

This route through constantly changing scenery brings you from lush fjords to stark mountains. The drive through the Ryfylke region is a varied one, with small towns and communities interspersed among flourishing farmland and a versatile business and industrial base. Sauda, which is famous for its smelting industry, is situated between mountain peaks and waterfalls innermost in Ryfylke. In Sauda, and in the old zinc mines of the Allmannajuvet gorge, you can experience Norwegian industrial history first hand. The trip across the Sauda mountains into the Røldal valley is spectacular, along a road that snakes through the towering mountain landscape. Some of Norways most well-known attractions, such as the Prekestolen cliff and plateau (Pulpit Rock), the Lysefjord and the wedged boulder called Kjæragbolten, can be explored on short detours from the route. National Tourist Route Ryfylke runs from Oanes on the Lysefjord, via Sauda to Hordalia in the Røldal valley over a total distance of 183 kilometres (National Road 13, County Road 46/520). The route includes two ferries that offer you a different perspective on the fjord scenery. The stretch from Helandsbygd to Røldal is closed in the winter season. This road usually closes in November and reopens in June.

La Belle Province has a lot in common with Ontario. It is a huge political entity, with most of the land mass unusable due to permafrost. Almost all the roads and settlements are in the southern half of the province, so we expanded the scale of our artwork and created a map that will be of greater practical use for visitors than one of the entire province. Even so, the distances are formidable (say it in French; it sounds much more dramatic!) Side one concentrates on the region north of Montreal, and includes the Canadian Shield region of Abitibi. The second side follows the St. Lawrence River eastward to Quebec City, where one can continue eastward on the north shore for hundreds of kilometers or cross over an enormous bridge to the south shore and do essentially the same; ending up in the picturesque Gaspe Peninsula! This is an easy to use map, with good detail and a lot of information as to camping sites, interesting points of view, access points from the USA, and roads leading far into the interior. It also includes an excellent inset map of central Montreal.

By its shape, generous portions of the southern portions of DEM Congo, the eastern third of Angola, the northern half of Mozambique, and Botswana's Okavunga Delta are included on the one side. The second side covers South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, the rest of Botswana, and southern Namibia in great detail. This is an excellent map for anyone visiting the larger region of the southern third of Africa. As with our other regional titles, this is a work in progress. The next stage will be to move to a more detailed scale and prepare new maps for West Africa, the Sahara, East Africa, and the larger countries of the continent - a task that should take several years.

ITMB publishes a map of Great Britain, but each portion of GB needs its own map to show roads and attractions in more detail. This is a brilliant map of both England and Wales, showing the entire 'country' in a double-sided format. The place names index is formidable, but England in particular is a series of little villages, so it has been very difficult to decide what to include and what to leave out. This map is showing motorways, divided carriageways, all A & B highways, railway lines, airports, historic sites and touristic attractions, parks and gardens, and just about everything that we could fit on to the page to provide users with a detailed, usable map. We have been able to fit all of southern England/Wales as far north as Chester/Lincoln on side A and with a little overlap, from those cities north to the well over the Scottish border, up to Perth/Dundee filling side B. The Isle of Man and much of Northern Ireland are included as well as a bonus, with an inset map showing the Channel Islands and another inset showing central London. Apologies if we omitted something crucial; please advise. This is a brand new map, replacing the artwork we used in the past. Scotland was done as a double-sided map using the same data base and was released a couple of months ago. This is an excellent map for touring all of England/Wales

From Michelin's yellow Local series of Europe maps comes this map of Lombardia 1:200 000, showing excellent detail in this region of Italy. The map has the usual excellent road detail characteristic of Michelin maps, with everything from motorways down to rough tracks and footpaths marked out clearly. The number of lanes is indicated on most roads, with intermediate road distances, European route numbers and tolled roads also shown.

The map includes highly detailed relief shading that's derived from satellite photos, with plenty of spot heights also. View points, scenic routes, religious and historic buildings, caves, palaces and villas, parks and loads of other places of touristic interest are marked out with symbols. The legend is in a few lanaguages, one of them is English.

The map also has a table gving distances and driving times between major towns and citites throughout the region and an extensive index of places.

ITMB is pleased to announce the newest addition to our range of titles on the USA. Increasingly, we are developing our artwork to cover the larger states attractively and comprehensively, but also, we hope sensibly. Texas and Oklahoma share a common heritage of having been formed out of land taken from others through the long-held policy of Manifest Destiny. Today, Texas is the second largest State in the union (after Alaska), and is the only State to have previously been an independent country. It also includes the oldest urban area in the USA, Presidio, founded by the Spaniards to guard the ford over the Rio Grande. Because of its shape, and the natural proximity of the State of Oklahoma along its northern edge, combining the two States just made sense. The map is presented double-sided (top half/bottom half) on waterproof paper that is durable and tear-resistant. There was not as much room for inset maps as we had hoped, but good-sized urban map of Amarillo, Tulsa, and Oklahoma City are included. The map has two covers, one for each State, for easier display; both States are done at the same scale.

This is the third ITMB title on Africa to be released using our digital data base material. As with Africa as a continental map and Africa North West, this map covers a large area and tries to do so fairly and in detail. The essential areas of coverage are Libya and Egypt in the north, with Sudan/South Sudan, Ethiopia/Eritrea in the middle, and Kenya/Uganda in the south, with a fair portion of Tanzania and Congo thrown in simply because it fits. Being a regional map, it is useful for the 'big' picture. It is quite detailed, showing roads, towns, and major touristic sites. It is more detailed and at a better scale than the Michelin map of the same name

This is a double sided map with Netherlands & Belgium on 1 side. The Belgium portion occupies other shared with Luxembourg. The map has two covers, one side saying Belgium and Luxembourg, with a cover picture of a town square, and the other side says Netherlands and Belgium, with a cover picture of a windmill. The map's artwork is completely new and different from the previous edition, and much more in keeping with ITMB's style for Europe. Motorways are in blue, main roads in green, and other roads in red casing. Road distances between points are noted, as well as motorway rest areas, and touristic sites such as windmills, noteworthy churches, and camping areas. Height elevations are minimal, but park areas have been shown. The border portion of France is also included, as well as appropriate border portions of Germany. The 'Low Countries' are very interesting for visitors and include canals, historic cities such as Bruges, Leuven, and Liege and the battlefield region of Bastogne and 'The Bulge' this map is also including the West Frisian Islands and adjacent Germany and France with complete index of all cities and towns in the map.

India is a very large country! It also has an unusual diamond shaped physical appearance that makes it hard to map. This Marco Polo map features really easy to read cartography. Topography is highlighted with relief shading and loads of spot heights and the road network is clearly shown with roads ranging from motorways all the way through to minor secondary roads. The map also clearly indicates airports, places of interest, scenic/tourist routes, view points etc.

The map includes a booklet attached to the cover that contains some useful information and a very extensive index that covers locations, places of interest and geographical features. Also included are a distance/driving time chart and a fold out flap on the cover with an overview map of the region covered.

A unique feature of the Marco Polo maps is "mark it" stickers, a set of seven reusable stickers (ie they don't damage the map when removed and placed elsewhere) that can be used to highlight interesting places, the route you plan to take (to make navigation easier), or whatever you want really.

Naturally, at a better scale, roads and road conditions can be shown to better advantage, and the ferry routes from Istanbul make more sense. The topography is now showing as contouring more easily, and we have been able to add the next layer of villages. The scale is still not appropriate for showing minor roads and tracks, but we have included as many as we feel we can. The map is printed on durable plastic paper, so will stand up to the rigours of travel quite well. A basin inset map of Istanbul has been included as well.

Zoals je van Michelin mag verwachten zijn het onmisbare overzichtskaarten van een uitstekende kwaliteit: een duidelijk en goed leesbaar kaartbeeld.  Vrijwel alle berijdbare wegen staan er op ingetekend, in kleur verschillend voor grote en kleine wegen. Andere weginformatie omvat bijvoorbeeld kilometer-afstanden, tolwegen, helling-aanduiding, winterafsluitingen, tankstations maar ook de bekende groene routes: de mooiste wegen om te rijden.

Daarnaast geeft de kaart toeristische informatie met symbolen weer: bezienswaardigheden als kastelen, kloosters, musea, maar ook campings (niet allemaal overigens). De kaart is voorzien van een 4-talige legenda.

Toch hebben de makers door een beperkt gebruik van symbolen geen drukke kaart gemaakt. De kracht zit hem dan ook in de combinatie van meer dan voldoende informatie en goede leesbaarheid.
