De rotsachtige oevers van het Kolovesi Nationaal Park weerklinken enkel met de geluiden van de wildernis, aangezien motorbootvaren in het broedgebied van de Saimaa-zeehond verboden is. Ga op een kajaktocht en laat je kano te water bij de Käkövesi of Kirkkoranta lanceerplaatsen.
 
Er zijn dertien kampeerterreinen, en in Mäntysalo en Huhtiniemi zijn zelfs huurhutten beschikbaar. De afwisseling van open wateren en smalle zeestraten brengt variatie in je reis. De imposante rotswand van Ukonvuori bevat een rotsschildering die een menselijke figuur voorstelt, vergelijkbaar met vondsten op de rotswanden van Havukkavuori en Vierunvuori.
 
Joutenvesi is bijna volledig een natuurbeschermingsgebied, en er zijn geen kampeerplaatsen. Tijdelijk kamperen is toegestaan, met uitzondering van de beperkte gebieden.

We hebben vastgesteld dat het beste materiaal voor een kaart Tyvek® is. Dit is gemaakt van een synthetische vezel die de kaart volledig ongevoelig maakt voor water en zeer scheurbestendig. Een Tyvek-kaart scheurt niet op de vouwen en verliest zijn kleur niet bij gebruik.
