Kinshasa enfin "à la une" du Petit Futé ! Autrefois Kin la Belle, Kinshasa tente aujourd'hui, après les trop longues années d'instabilité, de se reconstruire et de regagner la confiance de ses habitants, des investisseurs et des touristes. Au sein des 10 millions de Kinois, 450 ethnies congolaises et des habitants issus de tout le continent et d'ailleurs, forment l'énorme et grouillante population de cette ville tentaculaire. Beaucoup de jeunes à la formation précaire slaloment entre le pire et le meilleur, entre misère et prospérité, entre rire et larmes. Tous les excès trouvent place dans une cacophonie parfois bien incompréhensible à nos yeux et nos oreilles. A Kinshasa, les "Cinq chantiers" promis dès 2007 par le Président Kabila, ont porté quelques fruits, les plus visibles étant la réfection de certaines grandes artères complètement refaites par les Chinois. Et puis on bâtit à tout va, de manière parfois anarchique et selon des critères esthétiques qui laissent quelquefois rêveur... Les embouteillages sont permanents et s'ajoutent au bruit d'une cité qui ne dort jamais complètement. Les fumets de cuisine en plein air chatouillent les narines et incitent à arrêter le temps pour déguster une brochette de cabri avec une Primus fraîche. Beaucoup de nouveaux restaurants, bars et discothèques dans le quartier de la Gombe bien sûr, mais aussi dans les cités, là où l'ambiance donne toute sa mesure. L'âme de Kin se révèle à celui qui pourra se laisser séduire par les multiples facettes de cette ville tantôt enivrante, tantôt agaçante mais qui ne laisse personne indifférent. Le Kinois est à l'image de sa ville : spontané, extraverti, frimeur (l'Italien d'Afrique dit-on), noceur, mais pas bagarreur. Capitale de la musique avec des tas de grands noms qui confirment sa réputation de fêtarde et d'ambianceuse jusqu'au bout de la nuit et que lui envient les autres grandes villes africaines. Peinture, sculpture, BD, de nombreux artistes continuent d'émerger et exposent régulièrement dans des galeries du monde entier. La ville n'est pas en reste au niveau culturel avec des spectacles traditionnels ou avant-gardistes qui se donnent régulièrement dans les théâtres et centres culturels. Et quand la permanente ébullition kinoise vous aura mis ko, suivez le guide et sortez de la ville pour une escapade d'un jour ou deux en direction du Bas-Congo ou du Bandundu. C'est magique.
